Tesla Diminished Value Case Study

A client was referred to DVAC by a respected five star auto-body shop. His brand new 2020 Tesla, with only 3623 miles on the clock, was hit by an insured at fault driver. The at fault insurance company paid $12950 in collision repairs. As is often typical, they told our client that he had “to prove” the diminished value amount. The Tesla owner retained DVAC and we submitted our licensed diminishment of value (DOV) report to the independent appraiser ultimately hired by the insurance company. After a brief discussion with their independent appraiser they agreed with DVAC that the DOV was $7500. The customer promptly received this extra settlement check in addition to the collision settlement. It pays to hire a licensed Diminished Value Appraiser.
